Dahi Papdi Chaat / North Indian Street Food

Papdi chaat is a popular traditional North Indian street food. A perfect blend of sweet, sour ,tangy , and spicy flavors with a creamy crunchy texture ! It is traditionally prepared using crisp fried dough wafers known as papri , along with boiled chick peas, boiled potatoes , yogurt and tamarind chutney and topped with chaat masala and sev.

To make it a an healthy affair , i have used Whole Wheat baked Matris in place of deep fried maida papdi. Have paired Moong sprouts with boiled Potatoes to top the matris which makes them filling. The yogurt gives a nice creamy texture to the dish. And Coriander, Mint green chutney and Dates and tamarind chutney gives it the required spicy , sweet and tangy kick. Overall an irresistible Chaat dish.

This is an old post that i had published in 2015 during my early blogging days. Today, i have updated the post with video recipe and written content, the recipe remains unchanged though. I have many such old posts where i feel the photography is dull or the recipe is not up to the mark (at times we keep on changing our own recipes to make it a better version of it). Such posts need to be updated. All thanks to my dear friend and a fellow blogger Renu, who came up with a Facebook gourmet group, Foodies_redoing Old posts, wherein a group of passionate food bloggers can update their old posts with new photographs and written content fortnightly.  The pic below is my old pic of Dahi Papdi Chaat. One can make out the difference between the old and the new pic and the food styling .

  3. One of my favorite chaat dishes, what I like is that you have used baked papdi. In fact I baked them a few days ago. I usually don't add chopped tomato. Next time I will, as that probably makes dahi papdi chaat even more flavourful.
