Chocolate Ice Cream

This chocolate flavour ice-cream with an easy no-cook recipe is a delight for all chocolate lovers. Made with just 5 ingredients , this chocolate ice-cream is utterly delicious and does not require an ice cream maker nor does the recipe call for multiple whipping of the ice cream base.

Best part about this Chocolate Ice Cream is that the recipe is fuss-free and that there  is no ice crystal formation. Whipping cream or heavy cream about 35% milk fat is used in this recipe.  I have used brown sugar as a sweetener. Good quality unsweetened cocoa powder gives best results.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes + freezing time
Cooking Time: 0 minutes
Serves: A large block of ice cream

Ingredients:
  • 2 cup heavy cream/whipping cream, 35 % milk fat
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Method:
  1. To begin with making the no-cook chocolate ice cream, take 1/2 cup sugar in a grinder jar and pulse to make a fine powder. It came around 3/4 cup powdered sugar.

2. In a mixing bowl take heavy cream and add powdered sugar to it. Mix it well. Whip this cream for 1-2 minutes or until you get soft spikes.

3. To this sweetened cream add the unsweetened cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla essence. Whisk it well for 1-2 minutes so that all the ingredients blend well with each other.

4. Pour this Ice-cream mix into a freezer safe container and cover it with a lid or aluminum sheet. Keep it in a freezer for about 6 hours or overnight for the ice-cream to set.

 5. When ready to serve, remove the ice-cream tin from the freezer, dip the scooper in warm water and scoop out the ice-cream in individual serving cups or bowls. Enjoy the delicious chocolate ice-cream with your loved ones !

Recipe Notes:
  • Use good quality cocoa powder for best results.
  • Whipping cream or heavy cream can be used in this recipe. You may use Amul  cream with 35% .
