Cold Coffee Milkshake Recipe

Cold coffee milkshake is a refreshing beverage to beat the summer heat. Made with just 4 ingredients, this no cook recipe calls for use of instant coffee, milk, sweetener, chocolate syrup and a blender to whip up a creamy drink with a perfect kick of coffee and a lovely frothy layer at the top. The recipe is simple and quick, and is refined sugar-free, as i have used honey to sweeten the cold coffee.

The milkshake can be topped with ice-cream or whipped cream for a thick and creamy consistency. I have kept it simple and used Homemade Chocolate syrup in this drink. This cold coffee milkshake can be served at breakfast or as a perfect summer afternoon treat . So if you love coffee or chocolate , you are surely going to enjoy the delicious flavors of both in this milkshake.

Like most of the Maharashtrian families, we are tea drinkers and our day begins with a piping hot cup of (chaha) tea and i rarely have coffee. But milkshakes are my family favourite and i make them with seasonal fruits all year round. So when #Coffee was decided as the theme for #40th week on #FoodieMondayBloghop , without a second thought , i knew i would make something cool and refreshing that would suit both the ongoing hot weather and taste of my family. This creamy cold coffee milkshake was a right choice and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Do check out my fellow bloggers posts as well for some innovative recipes on this theme.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1 tall glass

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk ( i have used full cream milk)
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • 1 tablespoon Chocolate Syrup ( i have used home-made)
  • 2 teaspoon honey or as per taste

Method:
  1. Take instant coffee in a bowl and add 1 tablespoon warm water to it. Mix well to get a coffee mixture.

2. To a blender jar, add cold milk , prepared coffee mixture and honey.

3. Add 2-3 ice cubes and blend well for few seconds till it becomes frothy.

4. Take a serving glass and drizzle the chocolate sauce all over its inside edges. Pour our prepared cold coffee milkshake over it slowly.

 5. Garnish the top frothy layer with swirls of chocolate syrup and serve immediately or chill until serving time.

 Recipe Notes:
  • The milkshake can be topped with ice-cream or whipped cream for a thick and creamy consistency.
  • Adding ice cubes is optional and if adding limit it to just 2-3 otherwise the cold coffee milkshake will get diluted and you may not get a frothy layer at the top.
  • You may use coffee decoction in this recipe, if using add 3 tablespoon of the decoction for 1 tall glass .
